The title refers to both their place of discovery and their apparent abandonment. Weathered by sunlight, wind, and extreme temperatures, the metal and glass objects already bear evidence of time. Plastic Adirondack chairs. Huron-Manistee national Forestland, MI. Two plastic Adirondack chairs, typically associated with domestic leisure spaces such as patios and backyards, were found in a clearing in the woods, presumably left by a deer hunter. Arranged symmetrically, facing one another, their broad, slatted backs and outward-reaching armrests evoke the antler rack of a buck. The chairs become a readymade sculpture through the artist’s act of selection and repositioning.
